Jane Timoney has made a deal with the devil. In order to keep her father’s failing bar open she has pinned her family’s future on the word of, and partnership with, the lieutenant of the Irish mob, Kevin Sweeney. Through Sweeney, Jane’s father’s bar stays afloat, but she learns it comes at a steep price as Jane and her best friend Evrard Velerio get in deeper and deeper with Sweeney’s crew. Among the new “friends” she makes include Sweeney’s muscle, the ne’er-do-well Augie Blando, and his partner-in-crime Luisito Calderon (a turncoat and former member of the Latin Kings), as well as Reg Duffy, an undercover cop embedded in Sweeney’s outfit.

Jane realizes fast that she has bit off more than she can chew, but that doesn’t stop her from descending further into the criminal underworld as she goes from outsider to major player and threat to Sweeney’s gang.
